ive just recently really dove into my z28. been doing alot of research for different mods and am needing new springs/shocks as well. im aiming for a good street/strip combo. and wanting to shed maybe an inch or so

What power level? What trans? What gears? Are you dead set on lowering it? Not necessarily the best path to straight-line traction.

when all said and done im hoping for 450-500+ i have a t56 and am switching to 3:42. and no im not. its just an idea lol

What gears do you have now? 94 and up T56's all had 3.42 from the factory. Or was it converted from an A4? Most T56 owners will go at least 3.73 or 4.10. My car was originally a T56 and after I bumped it up to 3.73's I wished I had gone 4.10.

With 450-500HP (at the flywheel?) I would say stock rear springs, QA1 or Afco single axjustable shocks all the way around with at least 275# springs in the front. Tubular rear LCA's, LCA relocation brackets, tubular adjustable panhard rod, adjustable torque arm with chassis front mount.

At that point, with sticky tires, the 10-bolt rear axle will be at risk. That can be a very costly upgrade.

I was under the impression they have the 3:24 from what I've read previously. I could be mistaken though. But this will be a very drawn out build as this car is currently my dd and I don't have the funds to dive straight in at the moment. So right now I'm doing all the research I can (my first build) and upgrading essential parts before i get ahead of myself. As far as a rear end is concerned which route would you suggest? I've heard nothing but good news about the Dana and have been leaning towards that.

93 T56 had either 2.73 (GU2) or 3.23 (GU5) gears in the rear and a higher numerical 1st gear in the 2 different T56's available. From 1994-2002 all T56's had 3.42 (GU6) rear axle and 2.66:1 1st gear. Check the service parts tag in the glove box for one of those RPO codes.
