60' ???
ok so this past saturday I went to the track and I ran a new best but my 60' is just horrible. 14.2 @ 98 ( not certain on MPH don't have slip w/me) 2.4 60'
the very first time i went to the track ( 6000-8000 DA norm)
I pulled a 14.6@97 with a sixty of 2.2 on street tires
that is the best sixty i've done and can't get near that. my sixties this saturday were consistantly 2.3-2.4 on drag radials(BFG) no matter if I launched at 3000rpms or slipped the clutch. I also get bogging- It grabs and then goes dead for a second and then comes alive again.
does it really take that many passes 30+ to figure out how to launch the car and get decent 60' ?? maybe i should go back to street tires lol

stick. I dunno it doesn't seem to matter how I launch. I do know that when I spin off the line I get a faster time (the new best) but the sixty-foot stays the same. or I can launch the thing at 3000 and pop the clutch and it will hook and then bog. maybe my suspension is shot.

Are the times above from the 92 or the 00?
Its going to take you a while to learn. It was the same for me. I made 50 passes before I broke into the 2.00's.(2.03) It will be similar for you also. I was 16 at this time but the thing is drag racing is a lot like golf. Espceially if your driving a 6spd. Take your time, think about your last pass, learn from it and make an educated decision to do next time.
Practice, Practice, practice.

How old are you? Or how long have you been driving a stick?
I was 16 and never broke 2.00 60fts till i was 18 and i took me 50-60 passes to get better. Like i said, drag racing is alot like golf. Takes time, practice, dedication.

Try l;aunching around 1500 when you engage the clutch and make sure the revs are on an upswing as it catches. If you spin drop it to 1200 and so on until you hook up.
Also, if you are going on a street night the track prep at most places is questionable at best. If your track allows it try and follow someone running real slicks and line up in their tracks.
It does take a long time to become proficient, an even longer time to become good, and usually a real long time to become great.

19, been driving a manual-or this car since 2004 but didn't start really trying to drive it till last year. I've been to the track a total of 5 times. got about 20 or a little more runs under my belt. I know my shifting is lacking but its way better than before lol. I just seem to really suck at the launch which nets me poor sixty-foot times. I think I will find a big empty parking lot to practice.
