What gear do you end up in in the 1/4 mile? I would think that you wind out 4th, and almost hit 5th?

I trap at 108 and am just getting near the top of 4th. My shift light comes on at 6K, and it comes on just as I cross the finish line, so there's a little left.

that should help you out

I crossed the line at 97mph this weekend, and 5200 rpm like the chart says sounds about right.

Anything over 4.10, you better have a viper 5th gear ratio.

Where you top out depends on your tire size and where your rev limiter is set. If you have a cam that makes power to 6500 and stock tires you could see 117. Larger tires raise the top speed. The gear chart linked earlier is very helpful in figuring this stuff out.

Thanks, I realize that. Just wanted some real world experience, from the average person.

I trapped at around 114mph at 6400rpm through the lights with my 4.10's, 255/50/16 BFG DR's. Hoping to change that this summer with some upgrades though.

Also worth noting, rpms were with an Autometer tach, not the stock POS swingy needle that the factory calls a tachometer.

I trap 115 through 4th gear, I shift each gear at 6100 (harlan shift light) The light comes on again in 4th around the line, maybe a bit before. Probably crossing at 6200 or so. I'm not exactly concentrating on the inaccurate stock rpm gauge at that moment with skinnies up front, 17lbs if air in the backs and no sway bar!
