I've had better luck with 28"slicks on the brake.

Stick cars can be difficult but I would try 26" set at 22psi first. The 26" and 4.10s are a great match whereas the 28" will take the ratio down a notch unless you are using Nitrous which will be a benefit

You keep posting this same info, and I believe it is wrong. I explained that in your post on the "Wheels & Tires" forum, where you indicated you fit a 295/60-16 on your car with no problems.

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/whe...99-z28-878399/

A 295/60-16 IS A 30" DIAMETER TIRE. You are not putting a 30" tire on a 4th Gen F-Body without some body work.

In the PM you sent me, you told me you were buying:

I suspect what you have is the M/T Drag Radial II, in sixe 295/50-16. That is a 27.7" tire, at least according to M/T.

It all depends on what you are doing.

Obviously you aren't racing or you would have an auto.

With a manual you need much more traction at the line but you don't want you break stuff either.

I have been told for the last 66 years of my life that if you spin at the line you need to go back and either reduce timing or tire pressure until it doesn't.

I'm running 26 x 10 x 15 hoosier racing slicks with 4:10 gears on mine, it's great on the quarter mile...
