1/8th mile MPH's

I was wondering what mph stock LS1 M6's run in the eighth on average. I was figuring around 82-83. Is this correct?

With an even better driver, 87-89. I had no problem trapping 87 when I was completely stock, and now, with just the few power mods I have, 89 mph isn't hard at all either. Just gotta be willing to drive the he!! out of it!!

it depends if you're talking about auto's or manuals.

I was talking about a STOCK M6 LS1. I have a stock LS1 M6 and was wondering how much slower in the eighth mile it is than my Saleen that has gone 118mph in the eighth and 145 in the quater.

you mean 39 miles per hour in the ¼ mile??? jesus thats an aweful high amount for a stock car....was this track you were on slope downhill with a good amount wind speed after the 1/8th mile???

i ran constant 13.5's@106 mph and i was running at 83mph every run and being stock. from what i read and what i hear, 13.5 @105-106 is the average and what most ls1's run stock...some faster, some slower....

under the track conditions, i could have run a faster time...prolly would have ran 13.0-13.3 if i could do better with my 60 ft times. All of my 60fts in 10 runs was at 2.2 or 2.3, track was a bit sloppy, but thats expected at the dive i was running at!!

here is my timeslips for my 2 quickest times, and my fastest ¼ trap speed...this should give you a good estimate

r/t .558 .792 .794
60ft 2.323 2.266 2.297
1/8 et 8.977 8.881 8.839
1/8 mph 83.33 83.44 82.71
1/4 et 13.629 13.536 13.525
1/4 mph 106.32 106.19 105.62

When i went to the track, i decided i would run it how i would normally have the car on the street, with just under full tank of gas, about 40%tread left on eagle f1's and 34psi tire pressure, these were my times. some drag radials and at a lower pressure, less weight in the gas tank and a little practice, i could easily be in the low 13's, with maybe another mph. just need to pull a 2.0 60ft or better, and its easily there!!!
so, take it how you want, but thats a stock 6 speed ls1. i was shifting into 4th about 80-100 feet before the end of the ¼.

hope that helps!

dave

My '98 M6 ran 84-85 mph in the 1/8 and 107-108 mph in the 1/4 when it was stock. With intake and exhaust, it was doing 86-87 in the 1/8 and 110-111 in the 1/4.

In other words, almost as fast as your Saleen. Are you bragging or something?
