VATS bypass. 3 or 3 thousand Ohms?
I am ready to do the VATs bypass and my key tests 3.00 with my meter set on the setting (a dot) between 200k and 20k. Do I need resisters to equal 3 Ohms? When I went to Radio Shack to buy my resisters all they had were resistors in the K values, i.e. 300k. Big difference!.

Not gonna be 3 ohms, since the pellet values are between 386 and 12292. You were probably on a kohms settings so it would likely be 3000 ohms. Buy a resistor or combination of them that equals anywhere between 2890-3150 ohms. Measure with a meter after you chain them together and before you use them to be sure they are in the range. Common resistors have about a 10% tolerance value to what they are marked as.

These should do the trick: https://www.radioshack.com/products/...ant=5717277381
Use 3 of them in series.
Or these: https://www.radioshack.com/collectio...ant=5717280837
Use 2 in series.

I am back on the project. However, when I wire the resistors in series I get a reading of 29.9. But with the meter in the same setting the resistance through the key is 2.99. So what's with that?

I suspect you bought the wrong resistors. They should have been 3 of the 1.0 kOhm or two of the 1.5 kOhm. I think you have 3 of the 10 kOhm or 2 of the 15 kOhm
