tuning for an 96 lt1 camaro

Ok so I have been doing research on how to tune my camaro but I'm still not sure exactly what it all entails. So the summer is nearing and I will be putting these mods in:

Yank ss3600 converter, trans super cooler, pacesetter long tube headers, LE2 heads ported, 227/234 .565/.565 110 LSA cam from LE, Holley 58mm throttle body, ported intake, 3.73 gears, strut bar, 1.6 roller rocker Comp 1618-16 Ultra Pro Mag, pushrods, and bigger fuel injectors (not sure which ones yet).

I found the the Jet DST is what I want and I found one on ebay for $350.

Is this all I need to tune it? Or do I need a software as well. I would like to put it on my macbook but I also have and old Toshiba if I need to.

I will also be doing a 383 kit and a supercharger later down the road so I will need this to work for that as well.

All info is much appreciated.

Thanks

Re: tuning for an 96 lt1 camaro

You have an oddball year not a lot out there for LT1 ODB2 . I think Jet DST is the only one priced for non commercial users. It does not have data logging capability, and it has limited capability compared to it's OBD1 predecessor 'TunerCat' . If I had a '96 I would convert it to OBD1, better software at lower costs. It won't pass emission testing, but you future looks like that's not a factor looking at your plans. Here's some chatter on Jet DST, I have personally never tried it and can't comment. Also note HP Tuners software mentioned in the thread does not support '96-'97 LT1 ODB2 so it's not an option you have. JET DST aka. Tuner Cats OBD II any good ?

You have a steep path ahead if you plan on a 383 w/blower that will get you into 2-Bar tuning. There are forums out there for aspirated LT1 setups that will help.
