bought a new batter a couple weeks ago, installed and works fine, however i left the dash open and it ran the battery down. so i recharged the battery and went to fire it up, seems normal until i turn the key all the way to "start" and everything goes off,"like a dead battery" but before i turned it to start the fuel pump cycles on, ding ding noise's from the key in the ignition, lights on dash all seems normal. im thinking something to do with the alarm system somehow? ive tried using both sets of keys neither work. and once it shuts down that first time it wont do anything after, unless i let it sit for a little bit, then the same problem. " aside from the red blinking light on the dash for the alarm system still blinks. am i missing something??? thanks. p.s i have tried searching.

Factory alarm or aftermarket alarm?

Could be the ignition switch, they are starting to show their age. See if the first part of this helps:
