re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1
1. USB ALDL Cable 12 pin, RedRiver and Moates.net one (redriver lights red)
2. both installed corectlly FTDI drivers, checked that thru Tunerpro
3. Program starts ok, com is there selected properly but after couple of Second "sync" Goes red and nothing happens, no data, timer updates radomly and that is all. Once "sync" went Green but no data still. Top status bar freezes radomly for a sec.
4. both cables work properly with WinALDL program too on other car.
any ideas what is wrong?
best regards

Have you tried Tunerpro or Freescan with the cable on the first (not-other) car? Is it an LT1 car?
Have you removed any jumpers on the cable?
Another remote possibility is that the newest FTDI driver may not work properly on an older FTDI device. Try using Version 2.8.24.0. That is available as an exe file on the same site as the Scan9495 app. I doubt this is the issue, because when that happens, no OBD1 app will work with that cable.

It is LT1 car, it does work with Tunerpro, FTDI is latest but will try with older ones. And checked both with and without the jumper, how should be properly with or without anyway ?

The jumper should be off. How old is the cable? I am having some problems using the 2012 FTDI chips with the new Version 2.10.0.0 drivers. I don't have an answer yet but try the older driver exe file for Ver 2.8.24.0. It could be because my program is not signed and the new drivers are signed. Perhaps Tunerpro is digitally signed and has no issues that way.

OK, do this: Install the Version 2.8.24.0 drivers but do not reboot after installation. Also leave the cable plugged into the pc the whole time. Try the app again. If it works, try rebooting the pc and see what happens (it may install the newer drivers) and put you back to original place.

Gary:
Not sure if it is of any importance with regard to his issues, but he posting from Warsaw.
I think that it would be helpful if people outside the US would post their "location" in the correct spot in their profile, so it shows up in their posts. That would help us allow for technical issues that may relate to export models, parts availability, etc.

I doubt if the location would make any difference. But then someone had bad data while using the Czech settings instead of US on his pc;-) I still don't get that one.
I should have asked what operating system Pawel is using. The statement about the indicator at the top freezing seems very strange since that is a Windows function.

Hi Gary,
Thank you for making this program! I look forward to trying it out.
I just got my connectors and FYI, the 12 pin connector on the 12
to 16 pin cable is wired a little differently. In my case, the "M" pin
is connected to the RED lead (the BRN/TAN lead is connected to
pin "G").
Good Luck!

Thanks Webb. That's good to know. It seems that there are two variations now. I just received one last week that had the tan one going to pin M. But I have heard from a few users getting ones that are like yours.
Hope it works well for you. If you have any questions, you can post them here, or message me, or email me at the address shown in the app.
