This is a Windows app, not Android. Even on a Windows phone, it isn't written for a touch screen, so I doubt it would work acceptably.

I tried unsuccessfully to download the app to my Windows 8 laptop. I'm no computer wizard but I tried it a couple of times, only to get the message from mediafire with no explanation . There's a phone number to call for assistance...haven't had time to do that yet.

Were you trying to download the entire folder? The zip file is inside the GDscan\SCAN9495 folder as stated above. Ther have been over 50 successful downloads according to the web site statistics.

I believe I was trying the entire folder. I recall there are 3 files. I wanna try it again but need to get a better understanding of the method. I've never heard of zip files till I tried this d'load...I've only owned my laptop since last fall & am learning as I go. It's not like Windows 7, which I use @ work.

I received a message from someone who has verified that this app works with his Windows 8 PC.

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

I was successful @ running it on my Windows 8 last night. My computer shows a MALF, Scan9495, & Scan9495 instructions files in the folder, and warns one may not work properly without all 3 being "extracted". I ran only the Scan9495 app & saw it but got an error about a port not found when I tried to go in it. I'm gonna keep toyin' with it. I'll prolly try to save it first then open it to go in it & see what happens. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

What type cable do you have connected to the pc? Have you installed the drivers for the cable? If so, does Control Panel/Device Manager show a "USB Serial Port" in the Ports group?

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

I haven't connected the laptop to my car yet. I've just been tryin' to d'load the app into my laptop & create an icon for a shortcut to it. I have a cable to connect the laptop directly to the OBD1 port in the car I bought from a member on this site. Once I've stored the app I'll go to the car & work with it.

Cool re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

I successfully d'loaded the folder, and learned "run" is what I refer to as "open" the file to read it or use it. Anyway, I hooked it up to my red Z28 and all is good!!! Ya did a fantastic job Gary!!!

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

Good to hear it is working for you. Now I can tell folks for sure that it is Win8-compatible I guess.
Let me know if you see many data errors showing in that box on the Comms tab. I am hoping I have that fixed so that doesn't happen too often other than when the ignition is accidentally switched off. And any other feedback you can provide will be appreciated.

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

Gary any specific reason displays for MAP & Baro are in 'HG' instead of Kpa also air flow is lbs/min instead of Grams/Sec. The old OBD1 tuning tables for TunerCat & TunerPro are Kpa and AFGS. Never really noticed that before when testing it. By the way used the latest version this AM.. Started car up after putting it away for the past 2-3 months and it ran like crap. Cranked up 9495Scan and it showed DTC 21 & TPS voltage at 4.88 volts w/key on engine off. Opened the hood and found some sort or rodent had made a nest out of my hood liner, crapped on top of intake manifold and chewed about 1 inch off the TPS wires in the harness. It's now back up after some splicing and repair. Now a hood liner is on my to-do list.

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

At the moment I have decided to limit the units to just one measurement system. Being good old American, I chose the Imperial, non-Metric, one. You guys can vote on which you would like and I will comply. Sometime in the future I will probably provide a selection to display everything in either Metric or Imperial (US). Another possibility is the Brit measurement system which is a bizarre mix of those two systems.

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

I understand it just what we are used to.. But if you ever implement a settings function, I vote to have Kpa or HG as choices for vacuum, Kpa and PSI as choices for pressure and AFGS should be there for air flow.
