Re: Scan93
To be of any use, we need the scan file. It will be in the same folder as scan9495.exe. The filename starts with "DLOG" and has the date and time and VIN.

Re: Scan93
Basically, you posted two screen shots, or "records". Go back and read post #6 where I tried to explain the difference between a "record" and a data log. As I noted, a scan may contain the data from as many as 3,000 to 10,000 of those individual records.

Re: Scan93
OK with windows 10 here goes.
With computer connected to the internet go to device manager.
See ports com and lpt (no com 3 there)
Go up to and click on VIEW
Click on hidden devices
you will see com3
double click on usb serial port com3
this will take you to properties
click driver updates
click ok
the seach for auto updates.
I did this and now when I hook up the cable I get a connected to com 3 message.Even with the key off.
Microsoft in their infinite wisdom decided to make me work to do this instead of being an automatic thing. Not backward thinking. Now I'm going to re-read the user's guide on how to make a log.Whew.(Sorry for the long post and I know GaryDoug posted using updated drivers but I thought this was automatic). Many thanks.

Re: Scan93
Ok.Took the mule laptop to a professional computer guy and had him take out everything windows vista and
install windows 7 along with microsoft office.
Downloaded GatyDougs scan9495 and everything works great.Even shows com3 automatically.
Great download.
Good clean download with no error messages.
Got the LOG I've been searching for MALF.(It's just there).
Now I just need to go for a run.
Thanks for putting up with me all this time.
I'm semi retired but got more stuff going on than before.Go figure.
Will post a log next week. Many thanks.

Re: Scan93
Tell me about retirement. I fully retired at the end of December and the past two months has been crazy with catching up on medical, financial planning, repairs around the house - everything I neglected for the past 10 years. Then they call me up and ask if I'd like to work part time for three weeks on a big ($70-80 million) bid they're working on. Hard to pass up when I can name my own price, get reimbursed for mileage, as an independent contractor. If you get a log, might be a while before I can get to it.
This weekend is 5 days long, going to a major craft beer festival in Oneonta, NY. At least 35 breweries represented, and sponsored by the brewery my son works for.

Re: Scan93
Forget my log for now.Take the job.I'm doing more work at home than I do part time at work.Today I just switched over to all LED lights.(Mostly flood ceiling).Costco in Calif. has the 60 w. of brightness 4 for $19.99.So I spent $200.00 but the electric bill will be next to nothing.(11.5w).Now the wife and I are going to change out the floors, then crown molding, then new carpet upstairs, then???

Re: Scan93
OK I've been working on this for a week now had (had) a difficult job trying to get this program to work as there were no numbers displayed on the scan9495. the 93 button works great, the connection works great, but scanning showed no numbers at all.So for the heck of it went back to read the instructions and found out I could use com4 and it worked. Now ,do I have to erase all the numbers displayed or will the new test erase the old and give me a clean log. Please don't throw me to the dogs just yet,as I've almost got it.Many thanks, and thanks for GaryDoug and Injuneer's patience.

Re: Scan93
The numbers will update as the scan progresses. It's real time data. No need to erase anything.
