Knock Retard??? Help
Im a little confused here. (Im guessing I should get a new knock sensor? or getting this product from DEI I belive that goes wrapped around the knock sensor to block out any exterior false knock) I have heads/cam/TB/ Roller Rockers/ LT4 knock module/LTs x pipe/ maganaflow mufflers dummped at the rear by the bumper. I logged my car lastnight at the track when I was doing some passes. First run no knock retard, second run knock retard as high as 6 degrees in the 5000 rpm then like 4 and 2 from 3k-45k (thats thru first gear) second gear no knock retard. did another pass after backing off timing same thing keeps happeing . I am running 93 Unless Shell is ripping people off lol.

Is knock count incrementing when the PCM is pulling timing ? If not could be burst knock or the PCM remembering old knock conditions and pulling timing to avoid it. In MOST instances if knock stays after pulling 5-8 degrees of timing at the RPM/MAP conditions that fail (as a test) is not real pre-detonation. Also if knock count bumps under low to now loads (low Kpa) it's not real. It gets tough to insure it's pre-detonation or just plain something vibrating.
