Help me get started

I have LT1 edit, data cable and OBD1 socked PCM that I bought from a member
here.

I got LT1 edit open and I have the members tune to look at.
My car is a bone stock 96 T/A.

I found a stock tune and downloaded it from here. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/LT1Edit/LT1files.htm

I picked up a new GM knock sensor per the instructions off carputing.
http://carputing.tripod.com/OBDII_to...Conversion.htm

I have never tuned using this software.
What am I looking far when I hook up my laptop?

How do I burn the stock tune to the PCM?

Re: Help me get started

LT1 Edit is usually locked to PCM Vin numbers, so you are probably only lisenced to burn to the socketed PCM you bought, and if that is in your car and all hooked up, then first try a read to make sure communication is working - there are some communications settings that you need to set for the serial port or USB. Then burn your new program back into it. It takes a little while, so don't disturb anything while it is going. Make sure your battery is well charged, but don't put it on a charger while you're downloading the program.

Re: Help me get started

Thanks for the reply Kevin.

The member I bought the parts from has helped me a great deal.
This past weekend I couldn't get my laptop the talk to the PCM.
I was informed that the USB serial adapter was the wrong one.
He give me a Belkin part# and said that one is the one he used.

How long can I expect it to take to read the PCM or uplaod a tune to it?
