Dtc 25

So I downloaded scan94/95 to scan my car codes and I got DTC 25. IAT sensor...

I swapped the sensor and disconnected the battery for a few minutes. The code came back.

The car is driving really rough specially on first and second gear. Almost like it wants to run out of gas and it rattles a lot on first and second gear. I just swapped my opti too, the one I had before die on me.

Any ideas??

Re: Dtc 25

DTC 25 basically indicates a short to ground on the circuit. Use Shoebox's guide to check:

4th Gen LT1 F-body Tech Articles

But that problem isn't going to cause your problems, although it will cause some timing issues.

Has the engine ever run correctly since you did the header install?

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/gen...s-hell-882163/

Use Scan9495 to run a data log of the PCM with the engine running, even driving it if possible.

I'm assuming the Opti was recently installed, in an attempt to solve the problems you had after the header install???? Are you sure you indexed the cam dowel pin to the correct hole in the back of the Opti?

Hey injuneer, thanks for your reply.. The car has not run correctly after the header install. I solved the issues of stalling after I started the car. This was solved by just cleaning the opti throughly. But just when I thought I was in the clear, I test drove it and it drove pretty rough with all the symptoms described...
I changed the opti because I assumed the old one was done, but that did not make a difference. And yes I made sure I got the cam pin in the right hole, since I taken the opti out of the car several times now, I think I become very proficient at getting the cam on correctly.

I took a short video of the car on the on position while scanning for codes. And noticed a new noise coming from the engine, may not be related but here you go...
Thanks again

Re: Dtc 25

Is the engine running in this video? The pcm shows no indication of it being running but I hear some engine noise. RPM value of 45 really means zero. Also some gauges in the cluster are not operating (tach and oil pressure) and the check gauges lamp is on.

Or am I hearing the strange new noise? Might be a worn fan motor.

Hi Gary,
Yes you're right the engine was not running... I took the video because there was and odd clicking sound coming from either the engine or somewhere under the dash.
I usually hear the gas pump prime when I turn the key on, however every now n then I'll hear a clicking sound. I will try to ping point the noise but I don't think is coming from the fuel pump...

I've done a few logs using your software, but to be perfectly honest, I don't know what I'm looking at??? Just a bunch of numbers jumping up and down... Don't know if that good or bad...
I don't know if there is a way I can post the logs and have a pro look at it????

On a side note I went through the spark plug wires last night and found 3 that were torn around the boot... I posted the pics on my photo bucket account (link above) and the plastic wrap that goes around the steering shaft on the engine side was burnt up pretty bad so I removed it. Hope that won't be an issue....

To post files that aren't necessarily photos or videos, I use Dropbox and Mediafire. Either works fine and both are free. There are many others. Then include the link in your reply.

TunerPro

Load into TunerPro RT and then export to csv file
Don't do selective export, leave the selective box unchecked so you get all data

Here are the converted (csv) files:

Re: Dtc 25

Quick update, I checked the wires of the IAT sensor and I discovered that they were stripped.. The inner wires were exposed and making contact with each other. I corrected that and I'm no longer getting DTC 25. 😎

My question is on the data log I can see the number in the bank 2 O2 readings are much lower than bank 1. Is that normal ??

Re: Dtc 25

Not much time free, but.....

Looking at the files Gary translated, at idle, the left O2 sensor is stuck at 1.092 volts. Right BLM is maxed out at 160. Can't understand why there is no code. IAT sensor show 304*F.... obviously shorted.

You have to run the engine for at least 206 seconds to have a chance for PCM to go into closed loop.

Didn't get a chance to look at any other files yet.

GARY: Your format is so much better.
