Battery Maintainers

Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but closest match I could find for the subject.

I rarely drive my Camaro. The car has a new alternator and battery. But I may drive it once a week or even weeks in between. I have a battery jumper, but I think it is bad for the battery to let it sit for so long in between use.

For you guys that rarely drive your babies... what do yall do? I was thinking about ordering a maintainer https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#s...ery+maintainer What are yall thoughts/ideas/suggestions.

Thanks
Cory

Re: Battery Maintainers

My car sits for months on end. After it destroyed an Optima red top in 6 months, we installed a Delco Professional, and hooked up to a Battery Tender (not the "Junior"). The Delco lasted 9 years. Replaced it with a Braille light-weight battery, still hooked up to the Battery Tender, and it's been fine for 5 years.

I would never let the car sit for an extended period of time without the Battery Tender. Never tried any other brand. Did have to replace it once in that 15 year period.

Re: Battery Maintainers

I have the dual-bank Deltran Battery Tender, and I use it to keep the batteries in the Camaro and the Grand National healthy over the winter. Works great!

Re: Battery Maintainers

I have used Battery tender plus for years also C Tek Mus 4.3 and the Schumacher SC-1200A/CA SpeedCharge 3/6/12 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Tester all with great results. All have extended life on multiple AGM batteries.
