Re: 1995 OBD1 tuning help!

Could tuning my car for speed density only fix the BLM split I have at idle?

Re: 1995 OBD1 tuning help!

Ok I tried connecting a few times with scan9495 and it is still telling me no sync with PCM. How can I determine if my usb ALDL cable is bad or working? Also the same for the ALDL port under the dash?

I'll ask GaryDoug to take a look at this. It's his software.

1. Did you check the car's connector using the procedure I posted in #6 and #8 above?

2. You can partially test the cable this way:

Leave the cable unplugged from the car but plugged into the pc.

Start the Scan9495 app.

Switch to the Comms tab.

Set the Enable Comms Display checkbox to checked (on).

Select the right port for the cable, click on Connect, and then click on Scan.

Let the app attempt to scan until it fills up the Comms display box, then click on Stop
.
Examine the characters in the box. See the attached screenshot. See if the string of characters following "Engine Request" or "Vehicle Data" matches the characters following the next line that says "Bad response". The app is reading back the same characters it sends; so if they match, that means the send and receive data lines (green and white) wires are connected together properly and the cable is working at least up to the car connector.
