SBC Marine Duty Engines...???

Just through the weird collection of automotive parts at my house. I stumbled upon a 350 Marine Duty engine that's been laying around from my dad's old boat. I've tried searching on here and on the internet to locate some more information on the Marine Duty engines. Found nothing. Does anyone have any information as to what is different with a marine duty engine vs. a standard engine?

Re: SBC Marine Duty Engines...???

Other than the obvious diferences such as cam shaft, carburator, manafolds, some gaskets, and other attached accessories, they are the same as a car engine. One thing to look out for is if the engine was run in salt water, you could have serious corrosion in the water jackets if it was not properly flushed after last use.
