Project car
I'm fixing to start a build up with a '93 Camaro platform. The car has no motor or trans. I'm wanting to create a street/strip car. Should I go back with an LT1 or upgrade to a LS1 or LS6, or should I go with a carb motor? What trans should I go with? Auto or Manual? Gears? The car will have a roll cage in it. Fuel cell will be replacing the gas tank under the car. Any Ideas will be helpful. Build up will take about 6 to 7 years due to finacial status. Thanks.

Carbed motor no doubt, for $$$ reasons.
Use an automatic,Th400 or powerglide.....depending on combo
Gears will be determined AFTER engine combination has been established as well as converter stall.
Good luck and have fun!

Here's what I did with my old 94 z28. I left the fuel tank alone and wired a relay to run the fuel pump.Added a inline regulator to lower fuel pressure .Installed a 400 with a 700r trans with vacuum module to control overdrive. Reused the electric fans and cooling system.Added block hugger headers . Warning the distributor is and major pain to get to .

On a budget a carbed sbc and a 700r4. If money isn't that much of a concern then a supercharged ls1 and 4L80e with a lock-up convertor.
It all depends on what you want to spend and what you prefer. Where I'm at I can get an LT1 with trans for $1k. If you look you may even find it cheaper.
