1988 K1500 4x4 w/balanced 350TBI motor
I haven't posted here a lot, and tossed a set of old tires up a bit back. I couldn't find any rules on a post count number before I tried to sell but I figured I'd try and if it got deleted I'd understand.
Anyway, I have an 88 K1500 4x4. Usual Chevy rust (cab corners, rocker panels, and a tiny fixable amount above rear wheels, bit on bottom inside lip of doors, and the front driver's side fender on the surface). Needs door hinge help. Interior is great except for the dinosaur bite out of the driver's side of the bench seat. I stuffed the hole and put a seat cover over it. Holds butts just fine.
Tranny weeps a bit out of the front seal. Usual problem with those trannys I've heard. 4L60e I believe. Hardly ever have to add any. Been at top of operating range for like 3 months now. Just annoying to see it dribble down the cover onto the pan. Was quoted like $150 to fix the seal but didn't want to frick with it.
On to the good stuff! I had the 350 motor bored and honed .30 over. Mahle rings, clevite bearings, all the good stuff. Block and heads decked to be perfectly flat. Line honed. New cast pistons. Crank machined. Rods all remachined to be perfectly round. Comp off-road cam, have the spec sheet if anyone's interested. Comp double timing chain. I then had everything balanced. The truck isn't really a looker, but man can you feel the power and how smoooooth this thing is. I love it. High volume oil pump (no oil pressure problems AT ALL) new distributor, new cap, new rotor, AC Delco plugs. New front hub assemblies (damn non-servicable bearings) new passenger side Moog ball joints upper and lower.
I'll throw in a set of doeskin leather bucket seats (driver's side is power) and a matching center console. Buckets could use recovered but the foam and everything else is perfect.
Engine broken in properly, the first 500 miles on Havoline 5w30, and I'm into the first 1,000 miles of the first 3,000 mile break in also on Havoline 5w30. Was going to go with Mobil1 after the break in was finished. Never had anything but Wix filters on the block since rebuild.
I wouldn't be selling her, but got the okay to find the diesel that I've been so desperately wanting for so long now. Was looking for a project 1st gen. car, but the fiance' gave me the okay for the diesel truck so that she didn't have something else laying around the garage taking up my time and money.
If you're looking for a beater to haul around your baby, or just something to beat the snot out of that you can be confident has the power and reliability you need, then this is your truck. Hell, it's the whole truck for less than a crate motor!
Comes with Jensen tape deck, Infinity reference plates in the front, and mystery speakers in the rear pillars.
$2,200.00 takes it! Thank you for reading!

Sorry for the delay. Don't have any pics yet, location is in Troy, IL, maybe 20 miles inside IL from St. Louis, MO. Have a tentative offer (he's trying to get the loan completed).
The seats and console still come with the truck, but I forgot to mention that they're not installed.
