Wiring help? Eclipse iPod adapter w/ pics
First ever attempt at wiring anything tomorrow, and it will be an Eclipse CD5000 headunit and this Eclipse iPC-106 iPod adapter. I think I've figured out how to wire up the headunit fine, but this cable has me confused as to where/how to connect it.
Here's a pic on top of the diagram in the book...
the connectors in the wire are the 2P in the book and should be going to a 12V Permanent supply. It ends off with two connectors, one labeled back up, do I only need to connect the farthest (female) one?

The wiring harness and the headunit each have a 12V constant that I will have to crimp together and I was considering cutting the connector off and putting in this third wire to give it power - but I have a feeling thats going to cause me problems in the future.
Is that really that stupid and will it blow a fuse? Or should that work?
