Arrow VARAD SCANNNER

I recently bought a varad scanner. It is supposed to replace the factory led that shows your alarm is active, but intend to put this in my car to be turned on at the flick of a switch. It has 3 wires, a positive, a negative, and a yellow constant. All i need to know is how can i get power from inside the car? I dont know how to wire things to the fuse block so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. You can check out varads website at www.varad.com Thanks,
Jon

I have that same scanner. What I did was just say screw it with replacing the factory LED I left that there. I plugged the scanner into the fusebox. I wire the positive to something (i forget, it was in the fusebox) and the yellow wire to the fuse that controls my radio. Now whenever my radio is off (whenever my car is turned off) the scanner will go on. It also makes it easy to unplug the scanner, when I go to college I garage my car and I don't want to risk the scanner killing my battery.

you could tap the yellow wire into like the courtesy lights fuse, and the other into the radio fuse........or just tap the wires into your radio's red and yellow wires

I dunno if this is too late or if u'll even get to read this but i think what u wanna do is what i did. u wanna be able to control when its on and off, right?
well heres what i did, take the power wire run it to the battery, ground the ground wire on the bolt in the a-pillar, then run the yellow wire(ignition wire) down the a-piller and to wherever u want ur switch, then gorund ur switch and plug the yellow wire into the switch.
basically the switch acts as an interuptor, when the switch is on there isnt power, hence when its hooked up to the fuse when car is on theres no power to it, swithc the switch off and u have power. hope this helps if its too confusing hit me up and i'll give u better directions
