speakers directly behind front seats 97+ camaro
i don't have the moonsoon system in my car. it came w/ a tape deck and now has a pioneer cd player in it. now, to the point, i want to replace the low frequency speakers that are behind the front seats. would a componet system midchannel speakers work? i would like to use a componet system so that i could put the tweeters in the spot that the moonsoon system tweeters are and have a better quality speaker for the bass. which brings me to another question...are factory speakers low channel or mid channel? also, on an infinity component system, are the 6 3/4 speakers mid or low frequency? thanks!

To answer some of your questions:
I believe the speakers behind the seats were supposed to be "sub-bass" speakers, however, they are pretty much just crappy midrange speakers. To be honest, I would not put anything in those locations. For proper imaging, you want the soundstage to be primarily in front of you. If you have an Infinity component system I would put it in the front.
BTW, the infinity's you speak of are midrange drivers.
