Radio & Windows go dead

Radio & Windows go dead
Strange problem - drove my 96 Z28 today and the radio and the windows decided not to work. Power flickered on the radio before it decided to take a break.
I parked the car, then came out a few hours later and everything started working again. Drove it a few miles again and it did it again....
Any ideas??
Thanks - Mike

Re: Radio & Windows go dead
The radio and the power windows are supplied by the "retained accessory power" (RAP) module. In 1996 when they added the body control module (BCM), the RAP module was made part of the BCM.

The BCM is notorious for problems with this circuit. There is info in the thread that was at the top of the forum when you posted:

I see them once in a while on eBay. Do you have the same symptoms? Most of the repair process work is removing and reinstalling the BCM, not the actual repair. Even if you can't solder, you should be able to take it to a car/TV/electronics shop who can.

I am having the same symptoms but I have an 01. I went and got another BCM for $50 and had no luck. I opened both of them up and they look fine. Im thinking of reinstalling the original the fuses look fine. Im going to try and replace the window relay to see if they are independent problems. let me know thanks
