Post Question about Monsoon

I have a '94 TA with the stock 10 speaker stereo system (not a Monsoon system). The Monsoon system was not offered in '94 models. Is it possible to upgrade to the monsoon amp and speakers in my car? Or are the wiring harnesses not compatible? Would it work with my current head unit? The Monsoon system sounds ten times better than the premium system that was offered in '94. Does anybody have suggestions on how to improve on this 10 speaker system and maintain a stock look inside the car? I would like to keep the interior appearance of the car stock (stock head unit, no boxed subs, and no visible amps). Any suggestions?

It's probably do-able but you would have to run an all new factory wirng harness. The Monsoon amp and it's factory connections are located above the rear tire on the passenger side of the car. You would have to run all new wiring from there to all the woofers and to the HU. The tweets get their power directly from the HU.

Switching to the Monsoon is hardly what I would call an "upgrade" though. You can do A LOT better with after market gear.

Well I basicly want to get my '94 10-speaker system to sound as good as the stock 500 watt monsoon system that is installed in 2002 models today. But I want to keep the interior appearance of the car fully stock (stock head unit, no boxed subs, and no amps mounted where they are visible). Does anybody know of a good after market solution that meets my criteria? Can I add an amp above the rear wheel where the monsoon amp mounts today and power the stock or aftermarket speakers?
