So.....we ordered our cams yesterday from my employer, Rydell Chevrolet. All is well, $284 after tax. Ouch. Fast forward to today. They can not get a hold of 2 GM847 cams since they are having "secondary supplier issues".....aka, Crane is no longer in operation.
Also, I went to change the lower drivers door hinge to fix a broken pin only to find out that the door itself had torn. I got lucky and found a complete undamaged door for $125. Finally,...
So things are progressing......slowly. Work and life are getting in the way as usual. We have both Camaros torn to bare chassis and the rust proofing has begun. The engine blocks are at the machine shop, and the heads are ready to be sent of to Lloyd as soon as I get around to it.
Nothing major really to add to this entry. The paint has been picked....we know the specs of the motors. While doing this without changing the 10 bolt is the smartest thing, it certainly adds some "excitment",...
So.....got a set of 374 LT1 heads on the way for my buddies car. Stangely, I can't sleep waiting for them to show. Building 2 cars up at the same time is 4 months is a hell of a task, and it's costing me a lot of sleep lately.
Regardless, it should be worth it in the end. I'll post my ramblings here mainly for my own entertainment, follow it you will.
