What am I, chopped liver?
Well, Saturday night was cruise night in Orange, VA. Every third Saturday in the warm months, the Burger King in Orange is a pretty nice place to be. Mudbone, Jr. and I had planned to take our cars, but after an afternoon of post-hole digging at church, he and a friend decided to take a cooler down to the river instead. I was bummed, but I can't say I blamed him. It was a hot day. My daughter said she wanted to go with me to the car show, so I checked in with Mrs. Mudbone to see if she wanted to go. She said sure and she'd take Kermit (Jr's. '95). So off we went -- me and Mudbone III in "Jennifer" (the 30th), and the girls in "Kermit".
We got to Orange at around 6:20PM. The gig was supposed to start at 6:00, but folks must have gotten there a lot before that. The place was packed. We did manage to find a nice place to part the two cars together (no pix, sorry) and set up our folding chairs. We all walked around for about an hour looking at the other cars. I ran into 5thGenCrazy68 and his car was looking sweet. There were at least 25 really nice cars, and about 150 or more interesting specimens. It was worth the trip, and Mrs. Mudbone accurately noted, it beats sitting out in the hot sun at a daytime show!
Anyway, we ambled back to our spot and settled in. Many folks stopped by to look and talk. I was really surprised though, at how many folks lingered around "Kermit". That Polo Green car is a real eye-catcher and people don't hesitate to check it out -- even to the point of ogling him and then breezing past "Jennifer" without so much as a pause! Poor girl, low miles, pristine condition and 1 of 729 credentials. Don't fret girl, the truly knowledgeable stopped in for scrutiny. Those folks get your pedigree! Still, it was funny to see a totally stock daily driver catch so many eyes. Mudbone, Jr. -- you've got a nice one there.

Nice write up of a great afternoon!
It was nice meeting the rest of the Mudbone family. As always your camaro and Mudbone, Jr are also sweet looking cars. I did notice Jr s car getting a lot of looks, I only see a few of those on the road. |
