Re: XTS limo and hearse.

Not going to lie, the limo looks like a XTS erected.

Re: XTS limo and hearse.

I'd have to see it in person, but the overhangs just look to short to me on the limo. The XTS already has extremely short overhangs and the stretched look just accentuates this.

I'd be caught dead in the hearse, though. Not bad.

Re: XTS limo and hearse.

That hearse is pimp! I was very happy when the funeral company took my Papaw to his grave in a Cadillac hearse instead of a Lincoln. He drove Cadillacs for as far back as I could remember, so it was only fitting for his last ride to be in one

Why don't they offer an XTS wagon like the CTS wagon?

And the "livery" model NEEDS a better name!

Either that or change the "Funeral Coach" to the "Deadery" model.

Re: XTS limo and hearse.

I wonder if they will do a 2013 presidential limo based on the XTS. They did new limos for 2001, 2005, and 2009.

Doubt it. The Presidential limo is on a much more substantial chassis to handle all the added weight from the armored plating and bullet proof glass.

A much, much more substantial chassis - using the GMC Topkick as its basis.

That said, since it's basically a totally custom job, they can probably make it look like just about anything. Might be hard to get that short front overhang, though!

The only thing those limos have in common with regular Caddys is the dash and that the front lights, grille and rearend somewhat resemble a Cadillac. Trust me they aren't any "version" based on a production car

You can see it pretty clearly on the last 2 limos. While the grille, headlights and rear sheetmetal are different, most the rest of the car-truck-tank looks almost exactly the same.

....anyone catch that on the current limo, the bulging wheel arches aren't on any current Cadillac (a stylistic addition) and the rear trunk height is taller?.

I guess I should have been more clear, I was referring to the styling, not the platform the XTS is on. I wonder if on inauguration day we will see a limo with an XTS style grill and rear end.
