It was sometime during the summer of 1969 that I fell in luv L-U-V with the Camaro. I was 20 years old and still in the Army, stationed at Ft. Bragg N.C. Two friends of mine had brand new 1969 Z-28's, one was orange with black stripes the other was dark metallic blue with black stripes. I got to drive both of them. I thought, daaayuummmmmm these cars are something. I never did buy a Camaro until 1977 but I now wish I would have bought a first genner and kept it for life. I'm certainly going to keep one of mine that I have now.

I was 14 and it was the summer before high school. My dad took me to Hawaii for vacation. We got off the plane and he told me we were going to have a convertible for a rental. I was so excited when they pulled around a polo green Camaro convertible. It was beautiful shinning in the sun. I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. Over the next 4 days with the wind in my hair I fell in love with the car. A few months after we got back I took drivers education. And what did they have? A navy blue 99’ Camaro. I drove it every time I went for a lesson. So when the time came around when my parents said they could help me get a car all I wanted was a Camaro. I couldn’t afford a Z28, but I worked all summer with a goal to buy a polo green 5-speed Camaro with T-tops. I found that car in August of 2000. It was a 95 in perfect condition. A few days later in was in my driveway. Now about two years later all I crave is power. That 3.4L just doesn’t do it for me. Especially when I get to ride around in my best friends 400 hp Boss 302. So this summer I’m going to sell my beloved first car and find another 95 polo green Camaro, just this time with a throaty V8. After college when I get a real job I want my first “brand new” car to be a 5th Gen. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Loved them from the first time I saw a 1967 Camaro. Bought my (first) wife a brand new 1968 Firebird 350, 4-speed, Safe-T-Trac rear, dark blue metallic, white deluxe knitted vinyl interior.... damn good looking car. Wish I could find a picture of it. I opted for the Pontiac rather than the Chevy, cause at the point I was driving a 1966 GTO Tri-Power 389, 4-speed.

Probably around 1977, I was 6 years old or so. We had a yard full of 1st gens, as my uncle had a hot rod shop and always had one of each year around. That and V8 Vega's. I knew very early on that 68 was my favorite year. Still is, to this very day I am searching for a replacement for the 68 I owned roughly 15 years. I know these cars like the back of my hand. Still have my 73 Z28 though and just got a big piece, long awaited full 1/4 for it...
