GM putting cash on Volt's hood

GM putting cash on Volt's hood
This isn't a good sign. Even the ridiculously impractical Nissan Leaf has been outselling the Volt recently at just a few thousand less on the sticker. Has GM botched the marketing of this car? Is it something else?

Welcome to cars in the tech sector. It's outdated. Model S is now the cool electric car. Marketing isn't helping much either, it's now priced competitively in the mid-sized car market but I didn't even know it until I stumbled upon this link.

Would seem like they'll lose even more money on them now.
I know this is how people want these cars to be perceived but buying a vehicle isn't like buying the latest iPhone. It's a bit larger of an investment, I'd say. Model S is cool and new - and priced way out of most leagues. If THAT car starts outperforming the Volt, it will be an utter embarrassment.

Stuck between losing lots of money or losing their green halo car. Not a good place to be in. It's still too expensive for most people I think to justify spending that much on such a small car and its not cutting edge like Telsa is perceived to be for people that have money to spend on a car like this.

They are becoming quite common our here in CA. Getting car pool lane access really helped. Also the amount of charging stations is growing quickly out here. For SoCal drivers the ability to get great gas mileage is one thing but time saved in traffic is another. The Volt does both.

As an aside, I finally got to drive a Volt today. What a freaking cool DD that would make.
My coworker used ONE tank of gasoline last year, and he has gone through a half tank so far this year.
The silent, no-shifting powertrain is rather surreal.
