Re: Corvette LT1 Official HP numbers
The manual has 3 overdrives now, which is a bit excessive, but I think both versions of the M7 will pick up some economy.

For completeness, it is 455HP, 460lbft with standard exhaust, and 460/465 with the performance exhaust.
Peak power is at 6000RPM, and as you can see from the SAE rating graph, that's as high as they show the power curve. Redline is supposed to be 6600RPM.

Re: Corvette LT1 Official HP numbers
I would be shocked. Camaro is slated for Gen6 in 2015. The 2014 models have already been set. I would be the new SS (should run through at least 2017) would see the LT1 before the Gen5. With the trucks and Corvette using the new engine first there is alot of ramping up of capacity to do. When the LS series debuted it went into Corvette (1997), F-body (1998), and then trucks (1999). Combined sales totals were probably less than 100,000 per year for Corvette/F-body in the 1998 overlap year. Now your going to try to build Corvettes and probably 500,000+ V8 powered trucks in year 1.

I would love to see a graph of the LT1 & LS7 power&torque curves overlapped. Looking at them side by side makes the torque curve look very close!
And I'm wondering if there's ANY chance that we could see a 7L built with the same advancements that the LT1 got over the LS3. The LT1 makes just 5 fewer tq than the LS7.

LT1
LS7
LS3
The LT1 and LS7 are pretty even up to 5k rpm then the LS7 maintains better torque to its higher redline.

^^^Nicely done, IR!!
Thats great info and yea, the LT1 is not that far off from the LS7..........
Now I think I shoud have waited for this motor before I bought my current GS.
I can't wait to see what the next Z06 and ZR1 are going to pack given the stoutness of this LT1......
Good things to come for sure!!

Great numbers. That's a nice jump from LS3. And an amazing start to the Gen 6 engines.
I think Gen 6 Camaro is to be a 2016 so we will have 2 years of the new nose and tail styling on the 5th Gen. Not that the new LT1 will be placed in it as I don't see that happening.
