Ford has tested other vehicles at the 'ring (Focus ST, Fiesta ST, along with the GT500) and didn't opt to post lap times so it appears they don't use it as a marketing tool in the same way GM does.

The only track I can think of that Ford specifically mentioned was Fiorano when they were trying to hit the 200 mph mark with the 2013 GT500

I respect your right to interpret the events as you saw. But Ford went through a lot of trouble to bring production level cars back there. Why else would they do that if not for marketing the car? They use all kinds of numbers in their advertising, including comparing horsepower and mileage specs to the ZL1 in the original press release.

Why spend the money? You can test brakes anywhere. You go to the ring to test a car.
