This is a good looking car, kind of a sportier, more aggressive evolution of the current Malibu. I like what I see so far.

Definitely improvement, but I'm confused. Isn't the 2012 Malibu supposed to have a big unveil in Shenghai in 4 days?
If so then what is the 2013 Malibu?
Or is the car they're unveiling the 2013 model year car and they're just unveiling it 8 months early?

You know how they could IMO make it look 10x better. Simple, eliminate the bar across the grill and just put the bowtie by itself in the center of the grill.

I must be the exception, I like the bar and I think the bowtie...while pretty big...looks nicely integrated into it.
Definitely a nice evolution, I think. Can't wait to see the back of it.

I was wondering what that would look like.. and then I remembered that I have photoshop...
so... yeah I don't think I agree with you there.
Edit: wait a minute... looking at it for a bit longer.... the one without the bar is looking a bit better...

As they are there, the version with the crossbar looks a little better to me. Then again, I don't have a huge problem with the crossbar / split grill theme anyway.

I dont dislike the bar as long as it's not 'tacked on' looking.... like back on the 2004-2006 Malibu... I dont have a problem with the current way they are doing it.
I also like it when the grille sections are of unequal size... like on the Cruze where the top grille opening is smaller than the bottom.

if I were to buy it.. and if they had an LS3 option I don't think I would get it... at all.... i don't want all that power to go to the front wheels...

I think the bowtie would have to shrink considerably to do the no-crossbar version. That might look cool. Can you 'shop that?

It's not bad the way it is, I just think the bar is played out.
