Ya, I'm right there with you...
I think Jetstream Blue was one of the best blues EVER, if not THE best... this...... no, not at all.
And I can say this with relative certainty too, since I've seen the color in person on a Cruze.

Re: The other new color for the 2012 Corvette
There is still Supersonic Blue which is better than Jetstream Blue or this new crappy blue-silver (I would rather have LeMans Blue if I had the choice of blue though).
Corvette colors will be:
Arctic White
Blade Silver Metallic
Inferno Orange Metallic
Velocity Yellow
Cyber Gray Metallic
Torch Red
Crystal Red Tintcoat
Supersonic Blue Metallic
Carbon Flash Metallic
Carlisle Blue Metallic
Notice Black is replaced by Carbon Flash. Jetsream Blue was discontinued halfway through 2011 production.
Another oddity is if you look at that palette it is supposed to be all of Chevrolet's exterior colors. There is no Red Jewel Metallic listed... is it replaced by something on the 2012 Camaro?

Re: The other new color for the 2012 Corvette
looking at pics, its a little more "blue" than i was thinking it was. Its not tooooo awful i suppose... I would never have a corvette in this color though, or any car for that matter. And theyre GETTING RID OF BLACK!?!?!?! That just seems absolutely ridiculous... I thought the carbon flash was exclusive to the centennial corvette and 45th anni camaro. Ive seen complaints that carbon flash looks like a black thats always dirty. It should be an extra cost option with black the no cost option...

Re: The other new color for the 2012 Corvette
The ONLY combination this color will look good on is a car that is optioned with the dark wheels and black headlights...especially a ZR1 with all the CF. Silver and especially chrome wheels will highlight the elderly nature of this color lol
I cant believe they killed the best blue ever made for these 2 blues. Im sure my opinion probably isnt shared though or they wouldnt have killed Jetstream.

Re: The other new color for the 2012 Corvette
Interesting. I had done a quick search for Camaro colors on google and it still listed Red Jewel for 2012 (but these were results from December).
As far as blue, you are right Jetstream Blue was certainly the greatest thing since the electric starter according to the guys that owned them. But there are a lot of guys that want Electron or even LeMans blue back. I am not a huge fan of lighter blues which is probably why I like Supersonic Blue better than Jetstream or Carlisle (but would prefer LeMans, or perhaps Electron or even Stryker Blue to what is available now).
Another thing as long as I am complaining, I think Victory Red is a lot better than Torch Red. Guess if I was buying a red Corvette these days it would have to be Crystal Red.

I hate the Supersonic Blue. It seems like a 'luxury' color, not something sporty, attention grabbing, and exciting.
However I hate this new blue much more. Gawd. It's a Corvette people, you don't buy one because you're looking for something to stick on a bathroom shelf next to the wife's potpourri.
Jetstream, Lemanz, Electron, Nassau blue are where it's at.
