So your saying ZL1 = Game over, no need for GT500 to show up, dont waste ink on a comparo?
Anyways, glad Ford didn't lose their mind and start the base price in the 60k category despite several Mustang websites all but demanding that the car cost at or more than 70k loaded. The ZL1 is the better deal overall but the pricing structure for the GT500 is just normal business for Ford, entry level car is a bit cheap, optioned up its a bit more expensive.

I could never see playing $70K for a SRA Mustang. The new Shelby is going to be really interesting. The car had issues before because it could not put all the power to the ground. Now they added 100 more HP. Supposedly they made some chassis tweaks also. That means the car will either be a surpise, or suck massivly. In my mind the shocks make the ZL1...and as we know..no Mustang has those. It will be nice to see a ZL1 knocking down better track times than a Boss with less power and likely more weight.

If I've learned anything about the internet it's that you shouldn't read the comments sections on Jalopnik or Youtube. Each will rot your brain and make you question the future of humanity.

And Slappy I apologize. I hadn't realized you were checking out the comments on Jalopnik.
Off topic, but I had the chance to check out a V6 5th Gen and the way body is screwee together ( long torso, short legs) I found headroom to be a problem unless I adjusted the rake on the back rest of the seat at the pimp angle. It was a base car so I figured maybe it just didn't have and adjustment for height?

I'm pretty sure this
is referring to a traction issue, as in too much power for the tires used on the car. He means trouble putting the power to use at the tires, not trouble making the advertised power numbers.
"... could not put all the power to the ground..."

Its kind of disappointing to not see the electronic bilsteins standard. Im not gonna knock Ford for that though as they clearly have different priorities. Its really not a apples to apples comparo to the ZL1, I wanna say how you have to add in all the options for the shocks and coolers ect. to match the content on the ZL1, which will make the GT500 quite a bit more expensive than a comparable ZL1 that has everything standard. But, the extra money in the Mustang leaves you with alot more power and a pair of Recaro seats, neither of which can be had on the Chevy. So ya cant really fault the optioned up cost of the GT500 at all, its more car. I think both cars are FTW.

I am glad the pricing is what it is....equal to the ZL1 (before options). It would have been good for it to start lower to force competitive pricing (in theory) but for what you pay, you get some nasty power.
I am also excited to see official performance times. Should be good.
As far as that dealer, he just strengthened the "******** car salesjerk" stereotype. He may think he's cool but he will realize sooner or later that people dropping a large chunk of what he makes in a year on a single car can make or break him. He gets cocky enough, and he won't move anything. I and many others know his kind when we see them. Some may be dumb enough to drop cash after being treated as lesser, but not everyone. He will move as many if not more cars by simply being respectful and qualifying the potential buyer rather than treating them like fools with money.
His comment about the Camaro, he needs to read sales figures beyond his whole THREE GT500s sold. That comment alone shows where he is at in his career, not counting the tripe spewed out before it.
