This is a very nice price for a hot hatch! Go Ford!

Doesn't seem like a vast improvement over my Cobalt SS sedan. The Cobalt makes more power but slightly less torque, although the Ford has some sort of anti torque steer electronics which would be nice. The Cobalt would rip the wheel all over the place.

Is it just me, or is it getting CRAZY expensive to buy a new car these days? I'm sorry, but I can't justify spending north of $25k on a such a vehicle...

I mean performance for $$$. The WRX will nearly beat anything. I have a feeling this car is going to target more "techies" than people interested in performance. I mean, it looks like that market is already crowded with cars between the Speed3 & GTI. Then it also has to compete with the RWD cars Genesis coupe, BRZ, a V6 stang, maro, and chally.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Even worse, you can get a base LS Camaro for $23,280 (plus $900 delivery I think) You have to be a diehard Focus lover to drop that kind of coin on one! Not bashing Ford in particular - I am sure a loaded Cruze prices out similarly.

BTW, there isn't currently a high performance version of the Cruze, so you won't be pricing one of those out to $30k.
I'd probably rather have this Focus than a stripper Camaro V6 or Mustang V6. Now, comparing a 2LT RS or V6 Premium with performance package vs. a fully optioned Focus ST might be a different story (all uncomfortably close to $30k msrp). Again, though, if one needs a real back seat and 4 doors, a quick, relatively fuel efficient Focus ST could be just the ticket. Even with the somewhat weird looking front fascia.
I've seen the WRX mentioned a few times. I think this car will outperform a WRX, unless people are referring to the STi version.

The only real option I'd want on that car is the HIDs. But, to include that, you have to check off the $4400 option package. I'll just do a true xenon projector retrofit for $500. And that includes paying someone to do it.
