shocks and sway bar, or full 1LE conversation
I was all set to start building up my Z for f-stock competition. I'm getting a 35mm bar (haven't quite decided hollow or solid yet) and Koni DA all around. Arleady have the Borla and will have the front end realigned shortly.
Then I came across 1LE.net, and I'm wondering which is better, do a 1LE conversion (I'd get a 36mm bar) or stick with the original plan, up above? I'm staying in Stock class and this is my summer daily driver.

Why? Well, I always wished I could make the rear of a 1LE softer for autox, but you can't change the rear springs. So, I got the idea to try and stiffen the front wheel rate of a Z28 toward that of a 1LE, leaving me with what I wanted.
Since 1993 when the 4th gen came out, ONE 1LE 4th gen has won Nationals. All the other 4th gen wins were in non-1LE cars. 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003 were all won "regular" Z28's. I setup, or helped on the 98, 99, and '03 cars (by the way, the 99/03 winner is a '95 T-top car). I also won a ProSolo Championship in 2002 with my car, and I lent it to a friend who finished 2nd at Nationals that year in it (I ran ESP), making it the fastest 4th gen that year.

Thanks for the advice. That's actually what my wallet was hoping you'd say. I didn't know the 1LE was so rare a winner in auto-x.
I already swap lids with the stocker for auto-x (probably should've mentioned it).
Interesting point on the SA. I will consider that route much more (your track record carries alo tof weight).
Thanks.

All steel alloys have about the same stiffness (modulus of elasticity) but can have very different yield strengths and ultimate strengths.
