Atlanta Autocross success!! - STIFF CHASSIS + CAMBER WORKS!
Friends,
I have been running Atlanta Region SCCA Autocross for 2 years. During the recent off season I radically adjusted front camber (-4) and installed a chromoly 8 point roll cage (for track days). I cannot believe the difference. My car is stiff, and TURNS LIKE ON RAILS.
I ran my first autocross of the year last sunday and even as a beginning driver, I KICKED SOME ***. I am not even pushing the car as hard as I can (because I'm not a great driver) but I was only a little off of the big boys. I managed to beat some vettes that I've never touched and seriously in the game with the experienced drivers.
I can't tell you what a stiff chassis and camber can do. AWESOME!
Happy modified in Atlanta!

Hey everybody, steve replied and HE'S the one guy who beat me by a bunch.
I didn't talk to you at the end cause I was loading the car and stuff, but I was really pleased at the outcome of the latest mods. I need to buy those Koni 5 way adjustables and then i'll be set.
My camber gauge shows it being between 3.5 and 4 degrees and it SURE made a difference. Remember you are allowed to drill out the plates and make the holes bigger. Would that help you get to 3.5 or 4?

The 4th gens are different than the 3rd gens. I can use offset bushings but that's about it and that will only give me about -2 degrees. That's more than enough for me since I still use my car as my daily driver.
If anyone would like to see our times and who runs I keep all the results on my web site.

Knowledge Performance is an atlanta based tuner shop. They have sponsored a SCCA SOLO2 classification (indexed and such) with PRIZES. They award $75 $50 and $25 for first second and third.
You can visit them at

Basically the PROFESSIONAL drivers end up running in that class. All us regular guys race in our regular classes. STEVE races with the big boys... (and usually does pretty well).

Re: Atlanta Autocross success!! - STIFF CHASSIS + CAMBER WORKS!
brian your lifting the inside rear tire through sharp turns. after the slalomn you made the immediate left followed by that right. pulling through that right you lifted four out of five times. i was working the slalomn. so yeah your chasis is stiff.
