Arrow Converters

Need some help and fast! I'm getting my tranny built and that alone should let everyone know i'm poor right now... I don't have much to spend but and i need to spend it soon because it's almost time to put everything back together. So here's what i'm asking. Basicly what converters give the most bang for the buck? Also what stall speed should i look at for my mods? Any input is very appreceated! thanks

i have a TCI 3000 2.2 STR, altho i had issue with it to begin with i am happy, be sure to get a cooler bcuz after only 3 weeks, the hotter running temps in the tranny (bcuz of the verter) ****ed up the tranny again

Ramchargers has a 4L60E 2400-2600 for $334.95.

http://www.ramchargers.com/cgi-bin/n...890&cat2=26917

They list it as a 2400 on the website, but this month's news bulletin they sent me calls it a 2400 stall/ 2600 flash (or something like that). They don't list the STR, though I'm assuming it's close to stock. This stall range will launch you right at your torque peak.

I got a brand new TC for $295 shipped with a 3500 stall speed. The guy told me that the TC will handle up to 600hp and it had a 1 year warranty..... I rebuild my tranny, put a tranny cooler, a shift kit, and the TC in I was so happy for about a month.... until the TC broke and F*ck my transmission so bad, that the guy from the tranny shop had to spend more time clinning all the metal from the tranny, than when he rebuild it for first time with 80Kmiles The TC even manage to destroy my tranny pump.

End of the story, it's better to pay $600 for a good TC than spend $1,000 later in re-building a perfectly fine transmission.

BTW the warranty only covers for the TC, not the tranny

you make your choise
good luck
btw I got a Torco converter from www.torcoconverters.com

Well SLP sells one for just alittle over $300.00.It won't be as good a performance gain as the higher priced ones but it would be better that stock and the converter should be of high quality because i think it is made by yank converters. And anyone can say what they like about SLP but i know for fact they only put their name on high quality parts.

if it's stock you'll be fine, cheap high stall TC is what you have to be carefull about.

go with the corvettes TC, that I think have a slight higher stall
