how about the other 3 digits of the vin. The last six denote the sequence number 831 doesnt narrow it down too much. could be 024831, 023831, 022831 see what i mean.

I know that, that's why I didn't mention them. That way I can proove that the person really has the car by verifing the first 3 digits along with a couple other unusual options I did not mention.

Exactly, that's why I omitted certain information that only I would know to verify the owner.
