I was trying to save my stock cat until i could save up enough $ fior a high flow one. I already got the headers and y-pipe and was about to order my hooker cat back when i noticed it looked like it bolted to the cat. I noticed that my cat was welded to the I-pipe on my car though...when i bought the car it had a newer exhaust from the cat-back. I'm guessing some lazy mechanic just chopped the old exhaust off and welded this cheap POS one on.I have a pick of what i see under the car, but no clue how to post it on this board.(if someone could show me how id be glad to) can i save this cat, or do i have to replace it in order to bolt up my new exhaust?
Thanks
Josh

Gaskets are nearly impossible to find to seal the cats. So its either you cut the flange off and weld it for a leak free exhaust or you attempt to use the rusty old flange and wad it with silicone for a leaky a$$ exhaust. Your choice.

That's the way exhaust goes man :(
You have a couple of options:
1. Get a direct-fit cat for your car.
2. Have an exhaust shop install the catback. They will need to cut the flange off the I-pipe and weld it to the converter. Common stuff...
As far as posting pics:
