Question Baer Track Kit, fit on Enkei Winn 17" Wheels

I'm using the template but it's too close to tell!

Aren't the Enkei Winns the same as the LG Motorsports wheels, only 3-piece instaed of 1? If so, I can tell you that it will be VERY close. I have the Z06 conversion on my 1996 T/A with the LG version of those wheels, and I ended up having to run a 5/8" spacer to get clearance. The problem that I had was with a small "ridge" that runs the full circumference of the wheel on the backside, just behind the spokes; I was getting enough contact that the wheels would not turn with the lugs tightened.

I can't tell you 100% one way or the other, because I don't know if the Enkei version has the ridge/lip thing, but I recommend trying to find someone local with the kit, and try to mount one of your wheels on his/her car to see if you have enough clearance.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Chris, the Enkei's do have a "step" in the ID behind the spokes...don't know if it is the same dimension as the LG Motorsport rims. Sounds like a test fit is in order.

I wonder if you could find someone local that has the Baer kit, so you could try a wheel on...

I have it, but I'm not exactly local.

Thanks Dave...I've posted on the local Southern California board (SCFB) to do just that!

I use the bigger BAER GT+ kit with big 13.15"x1.25" rotors and the bigger Corvette C5 PBR-2 on my Stock Camaro SS 17"x9" 5 spokes and 2 sets of AFS ZR1 replica wheels (17"x9.5" & 17"x11")with no problem (other the relocating wheel weights from area right behind the spokes).

I believe that BAER recommended 1/10th inch min clearance. I was about 20/1000 less than that with their template and they said no problem with my wheels. They were right.

Call LG motorsports and ask them if their wheel fits that brake kit.

Sorry I can't offer more,
Rick R

I got a chance to test fit my wheel on a friend's Baer Track Kit; it fit but only had a RCH to spare! Looks like minor grinding to the highest point of the cooling fins will give me the 0.1" clearance. By the way, LG Motorsports doesn't carry Enkei Winn wheels, they carry a one piece look alike copy. RK Motorsports has the sole selling rights to the 3 piece Winn wheels.

Hey Shawn,

Glad to hear you're still among the living! Let me know if you make it back down to San Diego!
