Hey, I was just wondering if there is a place to get better aftermarket synchros for a 6 speed in a 2002 Z? These stupid plastic ones suck. Also, how hard are they to replace? I have a moderate amount of technical knowledge and tools, but do I need to drop the tranny to do it? Thanks.

What kind of problems are you having? The 2002's should have a pretty solid setup?

I've had to have synchros replaced twice on my car. 3rd gear went out completely to where it just would not go into gear anymore without shutting the car off, putting into gear, and restarting the car. That happened at less than 10k miles. Then I had 3rd and 4th gear go out a while later. Now I have second gear that is hard to get into gear at times and it's getting more consistent. The dealership caused the second failure, but still. I'd like to get something a bit more solid in that department. I just don't want to have to replace them again.

You need to disassemble the tranny to swap syncros. I've heard of carbon fiber syncros. I'd call D&D Performance and ask them.
