tech line products
Has anybody ever used or heard of anyone using a product called tech line and doing their own ceramic coating on their headers.
Apparently it works very well, so they say.
It's a great thermal barrier and a good corrosion protector.
It can withstand up to 1400'F.
Does anybody know what kind of coating comes on the hooker LT and if it's even a thermal barrier, or just paint.
Also how good is the stuff they use at jet-hot.
I've heard of rusted headers after 500 miles and don't know how good of a coating jet-hot uses.
I don't feel like paying an extra $400 for something I can easily apply myself for under $100.
Any info will be appreciated.

The standard hooker coating is just paint. I have the black satin coating from techline.
If you're on a budget, its pretty good. I think jet hot is the best. Its easy to apply, but since i don't have an oven to bake it in, you had to be very careful when installing the headers to keep the stuff from scraping off. Once its baked on though, it seems very durable.
