Cool I have some cool ideas for a power inverter!!

i have been thinking of the cleanest way to mount a power invertor inside of my car and have it hardwired into my car. the inverter i have, is about the same dimensions (width, when it is on it's side) as the spot in my console where the cig. lighter is. since i don't smoke or even use my cig lighter, i thought of removing that rectangular plastic piece and seeing if i could slide the invertor into there. if that would work, i would then see about making a plastic cover that would cover that hole back up except for the plug outlets and the on/off switch.

my other idea is to leave the cig lighter and find a hidden spot to mount the invertor, behind dash, under seat, glovebox, or any other locations where it can't be seen. then i would run my wires (invertor-computer/computer-scan port under dash) underneath the carpet.

this is something that i am really interested in, so if any of you all have any ideas, comments, suggestions or just wanna say hi , let me know!!

thanks

thomas

I only ever have mine in my car/truck when I need it.
Just something more for a thief to steal really......
Is there a reason you would need it all the time in your Camaro?
Keep in mind that you shouldn't operate the inverter while not running your engine, to ensure that your battery doesn't die.......

I almost gave this some thought, all in all I dont use it that often that I wanted to add more things or hack up the car more Power inverters are neat toys to have though!
