im gettin ready to order my stuff from zaino but have ?'s........
i know that Z-2 is the stuff for me.....but, is that all i need for the polish? in other words after i have washed the car, used the clay bar, etc... i apply Z-2 according to directions, remove and done? am i missing any steps......just dont want to screw it up! lol.
is the ZFX stuff necessary?
also, is the Z-12 glass polish easy to apply?

I don't use the ZFX, I'm old school Z1

Get the ZFX, the Z2, and I personally like using a combo of Z5 and Z2 (the two polishes). Make sure you get the Z6 spray and the Z7 wash. The wash is liquid GOLD and the spray will blow your mind. The Z18 claybar is a "hell-yes" worthy investment. It'll make your car smooth as, well, glass. Speaking of, YES, the glass polish is easy and well, well worth it I did every non-tinted surface with it. Mirrors made a HUGE difference. Finally, try the Z16 tire gloss. It's really nice. Not slimy either. Works great on plasti/vinyl interior too.
I can't tell you jack about the ZFX, being an old school Zaino-er, but here's what I did:
Wash w/Dawn to remove.. everything
Wash w/Z7 + Z18 claybar to make it perfect
Rewash w/Z7 to finish the job.
(insert ZFX stuff here)
Apply Z1, wait 30, apply Z5, wait til dry. Give it as much time as possible.
Remove, apply Z6 per directions on bottle.
(next day)
Possibly re-wash.
Apply Z6.
Apply Z5 (or Z2)
Dry, wipe, more Z6.
Do that til the shine gives you a moment of zen, then do it one more time for fun. The Z6 helps more and more each time you use it.
Glass polish: Apply, give it a good amount of time to dry (hour in Florida sun does it good) and remove with a soft towel. I use an MF towel.
Tire/plastic/vinyl stuff: Put on sponge, wipe, grin. Then go inside and drink a beer by the window and enjoy the view.
BTW: I'm just a satisified customer, not a rep. Hope this helps!
After you clay and you're ready for your very first coat of Z2 polish, you have to use either ZFX or Z1 to strenghten the bond. Yes, ZFX is necessary of you are not using Z1. In other words, you must use either Z1 or the ZFX, but you don't need both. You apply Z1 on the initial coat and then about every 6 months or every 8-10 coats of polish. You can use ZFX on every single coat, and this is what I do. ZFX may be expensive, but it makes the Z system work soooo much better and easier than the traditional mehtod of Z1+Z2.
Z12 is abrasive and it needs a lot of rubbing so that it breaks the abrasives down into a finer polish. A buffer makes it work even better. Like many have reported, nearly every time you use the Z12 you will end up with a film on the glass that looks impossible to remove. All you have to do is wash it with Z7 or use a glass cleaner and a microfiber or cotton towel (MF works way better). If you use the Z12 by hand, the more you work it in the better it will turn out. Also, you need to use moderate to kinda heavy pressure, nothing light.....
