I think my car had N2O on it before

I just took one of my plugd out to inspect the condition of it because I will be changing them soon because i'll be installing nitrous this spring. To my amazement, the car has autolite 104's in it:alert: I know that this isn't the stock type plug so why would someone have put these in there unless it had nitrous on it?? This is sort of alarming to me and now I don't know what to think. Is there any way to tell if this is true or not? Thanks

PS. I just checked the gap and it's gapped at .040 if that means anything too.

theres a good chance it could have had nitrous but the you cant just assume that by the plugs...look for other signs of it....wiring....msd window switch mounting holes...holes in maf...holes in lid

I know I shouldn't assume but I don't see why they wouldn't just put the right plugs in there for stock ya know, they were even gapped at .040! It doesn't make sense. I should look a little more closely to see if I can notice something but I doubt I will.

check for any evidence of a bottle being in the spare tire well, deck above rear seats, or rear "well". That might let you know. Also as said before check for any holes in the intake elbow or lid or whatever.

are the tips white?

the guy could have just put the 104's in because they are cheap and readily available (walmart). i have noticed a lot of forum people that run tr55's and tr6's and gap them close that do not have power adders. screw holes and switch mounting holes are pretty good givaways of N2O, as well as the spare tire mounting areas......

Unless you pull the plugs out within a few seconds of making a nitrous run, any evidence of nitrous use on the plugs will be gone if you keep the engine running. Like mentioned before, maybe the previous owner just didn't fee like paying $45 for the platinum plugs.
