Safe Duster for Paint

Around here, especially now, we get a bazillion trees that love to pollinate... 5 minutes after you finish wiping the Z2 off your car. It pizzes me off. Is there any safe product out there to dust my cars with? Both are Zaino'd. One black, one dark red. They both show markes if I wipe the pollen/dust off with a towel. I just hate having to rewash the next &%#* day. I go through bottles of Z soap like cases of Mountain Dew

Unhappy

I can see pollen season coming just around the corner here too. I love the Spring, but the pollen can quite literally ruin things if not handled properly. The pollen itself is a very abrasive substance to an automotive finish. I NEVER use anything to rub on the car when it's coated in light or heavy pollen. The risks are just too great to scratch, swirl, and marr IMO. If you use a Cali Car Duster, then you have the abrasive pollens suspended in the duster forever. I prefer to give the car a light hosing off to remove most of it without ever physically touching the paint. Anything left should be removed with a wash IMO. I think I've found the secrets to keeping a 100% swirl and marr free finish, and one of my personal golden rules is to never rub the finish when it's dirty or dusty, even if it's extremely light. I prefer the lubricity of a car soap and a mitt. Pollen makes this even more important since it's so abrasive.....

As Mike said pollen is VERY abrasive, I would wash your car if you have pollen on it, I know many people that have scratched their cars using a duster with pollen on their car.

Thanks Mike. That's pretty much how I felt. I don't know if I trust the duster or not. I tried the Zaino spray once on a dusty car and put visible scratches in the clear-coat. Took 2 coats of Z5 to remove Reason I'm hesitant to wash is that it takes 3+ towels to dry. I'm gonna hit PepBoys and pick up a water blade to make that easier. Well, down to wash the car AGAIN! (3 times in 4 days)
