You can get a hi-flow Catco from summit for around 60 bucks i think, or you could gut the stock one. Either way it's easy, you shouldnt need to pay someone to do it.

even if you do end up having someone put it on for you, it shouldn't be more than $100......if that. Definately is the cat though. If it ever stops rattling, don't think the problem fixed itself. The honeycomb inside the cat probably just got lodged somehow with the exhaust flow. The problem is still there and you need to get it replaced ASAP before that honeycomb makes it's way to your muffler. Then you'll need a new muffler as well. Depending on emissions regulations where you live...I would recommend a high-flo cat like 94GrayV6 said. Otherwise you're looking at close to $600 for a Y pipe. GM doesn't sell just the catalytic converter seperately. You have to purchase pretty much the entire Y pipe assy. Call around and see if I'm kidding......I've already done it and decided to say "screw emissions" I'm getting a High-flo.. Depending whether you still have a warranty, it'll be covered if you do. Take advantage if you can.

Good luck

Get a hi-flo and be done with it

Why would u want to put a stock one back on and pay that much I dunno.

Plus there is that little performance increase you'll get.

Since you're in Cali, hope you never have to visit a Test-Only smog center if you add on a hi-flo.

A test-only is no different than any other smog shop here in Calif.

And the "Catalyst Visual Inspection" is just that......"is the cat there or is it gone"

So him having a Hi-Flo wont hurt a thing.
