Arrow B&M Ripper vs Pro 5.0 my opinion(just switched)

OK, I just swapped out my Ripper for the 5.0 with the short stick and these are the differences I see.

First off the stick location is different. The Ripper is more back and left towards the driver. The 5.0 is more up and to the right towards the passenger.

The 5.0 with the short stick has a shorter throw, but not by much.

The 5.0 is notchier. The B&M is smoother.

Some people say the 5.0 is "louder". Personally, I think its quieter than the Ripper. Either way, its not a big difference.

They both seem bo be very solid shifters, and very well built.

The biggest difference is the stick location though. Its a huge difference. The Ripper seems to be centered while the 5.0 is up and to the right. This kinda sucks because 5th and 6th are right next to the consol. And when I go to reverse, I have to push it over and into the consol to get it to go in. It really does seem to be off centered.

Having seen both positive and negative from both, I think the 5.0 is a better shifter. Maybe its just because of the short stick though.

Just thought everybody would like to hear this.

OK, I might know why its off center. I think my dumb *** bolted the stick to the right side, instead of the left side. I'll check this out and update this thread. If this is the case, the 5.0 has no flaws, and is superior in all ways.

That was it. Yup, im a dumbass!! Anyway, it is still a little forward and right compared to the Ripper, but not bad. Much, much better now. The 5.0 rules!!!

I personally like the 5.0. . Its a little notchier, and seems like more of an all out race shifter. The B&M is smoother, but still a good shifter. It comes down to personal preferance. Personally, im gonna install a cc306 cam because I dont really care about drivability. Others will get a cc305. They are both good shifters, but I prefer the 5.0. Thats just the type of person i am. My wife on the other hand, had trouble shifting the B&M when she drove my car. The gears were too close for her. The short stick with the 5.0 makes it closer yet. Like I said its personal preferance. At least I dont have to worry about my wife driving my car.
