Im thinking of doing this mod. the only place i can find with any info on how to do it is http://www.installuniversity.com. Dose anyone know if theis is the best way to do the mod? or dose anyone have a differnt step by step page? any feedback on this mod would be awsome.

But, I did a quick search and found:
http://www.f-body.org/rob/98z/ramair/
W/O looking at the install site, this looks like about the same write up & pictures that they have.
FWIW, here is the search results in general:
http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=free+ram+air
Best of Luck !!

P.S. Yes, my SS has it, and IMHO it works. Granted, that's all from SOTP 'cuz you can't really measure it on the dyno, but what the hey.

The only problem I've seen with install university is they say to cut the top shroud. Screw that, take it out, in fact take both the top and the bottom shrouds out. This way you can bring it back to original easily. Also, you won't have to buy this piece to replace it. I know when I had my car re-ringed at the dealership I put the shrouds back in. Oh, by the way, my car has never run hot.
